On September 1st, within the framework of the working visit to Donetsk, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Rybak participated in celebration on the occasion of the Knowledge Day in Donetsk secondary school No 55 named after Oleksandr Korzh.
Greeting all those present, Volodymyr Rybak noted that almost 450 thousands of first-graders have sat down at the desks and “this is, apparently, one of the most favourite holidays of all generations of people in our country”. He was satisfied “with the possibility to celebrate this holiday with pupils and teachers of one of the best schools of Donetsk that follows a good example of an outstanding Ukrainian educator Oleksandr Korzh”. Moreover, this is the school Volodymyr Rybak for the first time came in as a small schoolboy in 1954.
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada noted that Donetsk school No 55 is of informational-technological direction and has established the basis “for its students to go through life with an important slogan – “education through the whole life”. Computer and informational base of the school, as well as highly-qualified teachers, and the school lab of new information technologies create ideal conditions for both receiving quality education and further intellectual advancement.
The Chairman of the Parliament expressed satisfaction with the fact that he could help develop the school, and equip new computer lab with ten computers and notebooks. The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada has also presented 200 books to the school library.
“Not every Ukrainian school possesses technology of such a level,” emphasized Volodymyr Rybak. Thereat, he addressed pupils with a request to remember that “computers are not game consoles, but learning tools, the window into the world of new technologies, and continuation of books”.
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada wished first-graders a good start; future graduates - a good finish; and teachers - success and inspiration in the complicated teachers’ work.
